A Love Story..Continues....

"Distance makes the heart grow fonder" but if there are no feelings whatsoever.....then....

"Out of sight out of mind"

That night the girl comes home with a lot of fond memories.....

All the friends she made in the room of mirrors....

All the promises that she got....

Everything....

Slowly life came back to normal....

Once in a while she would remember all the friends that she made in the room of mirrors...ofcourse including the boy...vague thoughts and vague feelings....

There was a miraculous book that everyone had then. It showed them the faces of all the people they know. Ofcourse those people should know you too....

Slowly and steadily people started keeping up to their promises. They started showing themselves in each other "facebook". Slowly their facebook was full. Full of all of them who were a part of the beautiful blast in the monsoon. Including Damian, the head of the blast. Everyone started talking to each other...making promises to meet somewhere. Go frolicking...

Suddenly one day...when the girl opened her "facebook" she saw someone's face plastered on one of the pages. It was the boy who imitated the sound of the donkey in the room of mirrors. The boy she had a conversation with.....The boy she danced with. He was awaiting a response on his own facebook. The girl went through to his facebook.

Finally they were aquainted....

The boy was called 'Douglas'....

The girl....'Kimberly'......

The "facebook" had another miraculous power. You could write in the book and the message that you have written would reach the person it was intended for and the person would be able to reply the same way. The only glitch being both of them had to have their facebook open and in front of them to exchange messages.

So everyone from the room of mirrors started talking to each other the same way. Slowly the promises were flourishing and everybody did keep in touch. One day coincidentally, Douglas and Kimberly had their facebook open and in front of them at the same time. They exchanged pleasantries and then wrote a little more to each other....asking each other what they do and how they were present at the room of mirrors.

It was time for them to close their respective facebooks and get on with their routine. The only other way they would communicate was with this box that would work as a telephone for written messages. But it was also a regular telephone. You could take it around with you wherever you wished. So it was "mobile" whenever you needed it to be. But everyone couldn't use it. You needed to have a special number just like a normal telephone.

So just before Kimberly and Douglas parted ways again. Douglas asked Kimberly if she owned one of the "mobile" telephone things. She answered affirmatively and he inturn asked her for the number. She gave it to him like she had to all the friends from the monsoon blast when they had asked. They bade farewell to each other and shut their respective facebooks.

Immediately Kimberly received a message on her mobile telephone. It was Douglas. It simply said. "Keep in touch -Douglas". She now thought he was not so arrogant. Maybe just Maybe he was a nice boy. She was a little weary of boys and to top it all off she was awfully shy. An introvert.

One Day she and her friend Samantha were having some tea at a tea house. Their favourite one. They were regulars there. Suddenly it dawned on Kimberly that she should call Douglas and ask if he would fancy some tea that way they could meet and she would know how he was, in person. She uses her mobile telephone and gives him a ring. Surprisingly he answers. She asks him if he would like to come to that tea house and have a cup of tea. Surprisingly again he agrees.

He comes there and they greet each other. She introduces her friend Samantha to him and they all sit down. As the conversation proceeds Samantha asks Douglas if he was dating somebody. A question that did not occur to Kimberly at all. He answered affirmatively. Kimberly was taken aback. But when he did not reveal anything further she let the topic pass. Both Douglas and Kimberly found each other pleasant. People they wouldn't mind being friendly with. So then started a friendship......

Now they would meet every 2 or 3 days and Samantha being Kimberly's closest friend at that time would always be around. They were getting closer as friends. Slowly they were getting to know each other. Slowly they were meeting more often and talking on the mobile telephone almost everyday. One day when Kimberly thought it was the right time, she asked Douglas about the maiden that he was dating at that time. He told her that he was going away from her. He told her the reason and she listened to him. Finally the time came when he did break away from her. It pained him a lot but it was the best for both of them. Kimberly was there at that time to listen to him and if he needed to help him out. They became closer as friends and they started meeting much more. Ofcourse Samantha was invited too.

Slowly Kimberly figured out that Samantha has something going for Douglas. Though she tried to deny it, finally Kimberly did get it out of her. Again, Kimberly decided to play cupid. She decided to help Samantha win over Douglas. Little did she know that she was making a mistake. She was trying to be a friend to Samantha. Slowly she tried getting Samantha closer to Douglas and instead of that happening Douglas would step away from Samantha and get closer to her!! Finally one day, Kimberly mustered up the strength to ask Douglas if he was interested in Samantha and she got a "No" right to her face.

When she informed Samantha about this her ego was a little hurt. She was a pretty looking woman who had an ego. So she said she didnt have anything for Douglas and that it was just a minor attraction and that was because Douglas resembled the prince Shahid from the Kingdom of Bollywood in the department of looks. Kimberly heaved a sigh of relief that she hadnt hurt anyone. Meanwhile Douglas and Kimberly started getting even closer.

A few months later....Slowly but still suddenly Douglas started distancing himself from Kimberly. He stopped meeting her that often. Didnt talk to her much on the mobile telephone either. But he still messaged her now and then. Then there was always the facebook. Kimberly was a little disturbed. She wanted to know what happened to Douglas suddenly. She tried hard to figure out. She would call him several times. Either he wouldn't answer or if he would a woman would be on the other end telling her he was busy.

That got Kimberly thinking.......

Finally she figured it out. Douglas had found someone. He was dating the woman who was answering his mobile telephone.

She confronted him....and it was true.

He was in love....in love with a fair maiden. Most definitely the belle of the ball. She was called....Racheal.

Kimberly was happy for him. But she was sad she was losing a friend.

Slowly they stopped talking.....

Slowly they stopped meeting....

Slowly they became just a distant memory in each other's lives......

Was that the end of Kimberly and Douglas?
